Tis the Season

  • Tis the season to hold the door for the people after you. Just make sure they aren’t halfway across the parking lot so they have to sprint to reach you and the door.

  • Tis the season to believe in the magic of stocking stuffers. No gift is too small (well, I wouldn’t be handing out gift cards with fifty cents on them). Something that fits in a stocking can still make someone smile.

  • Tis the sweater to put a sweater on your dog when you take him for a walk in the freezing cold.

  • Tis the season to make a stocking for your cat. Load that baby up with toys and catnip.

  • Tis the season to wish your bartenders and servers a happy holiday. Who knows? They might have to work that day

  • Tis the season to buy up a whole new wardrobe on Black Friday with reds, greens, silvers and golds (maybe don’t do that)

  • Tis a season of gratitude. Thank someone every day.

  • Tis the season to be cozy. I have spoken of the importance of self care. We need to soak in bubble baths, crank up the oil diffusers and breathe in the scent of lava rocks. Someone else might enjoy this so keep in mind spa baskets and coupons make great holiday presents.

  • Tis the season to pray. I don’t care to what God/ diety/ concept. We all have someone we look to. This holiday season lets  pray to God/ diety/ concept about something beyond presents. Let’s pray for people less fortunate- both those we know and those we don’t. Let’s pray for a future we can all enjoy.

  • Tis the season for taking comfort in holiday music that goes beyond “All I Want For Christmas is You”

  • Tis the season to be unapologetically yourself while working to improve yourself at the same time. Then again, isn’t that every season?
